Renovations are still on full throttle this week as we continue to oversee the re-wiring and re-plumbing of the entire Farmhouse. We’re looking forward to sharing with you some of the interior updates over the coming weeks, but for now, the hardy blackface Scotch breed that forage our meadows have had a tough week in cold conditions in and around the beacon field.
Although the views that look down through the Bampton valley are something out of a movie, it’s extremely exposed. Fence posts don’t last more than 10 years, ancient banks are constantly eroded by strong wind and rain, every year we have to correct the pH levels in order for the grass to grow and being so exposed means that when it snows, it really snows!
Somebody did once say that owning a farm came with a never ending list of jobs…
